Mesheca Carter Bunyon is an honors graduate of Morgan State University and an honors graduate of The Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Mesheca has been in private practice for over twenty-five years. Dr. Bunyon specializes in ocular disease, refractive surgery care, primary eye care, and pediatric eye care. She has served as President of the Maryland Board of Optometry and has been on the board, appointed by the Governor of Maryland, since 2015.

In the past, Dr. Mesheca has served as Secretary of the National Optometric Association, Region I Trustee for the National Optometric Association, and President of the Central Maryland Optometric Society. She is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and the Past Vice President of the National Harbor Chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc.
Dr. Mesheca spends her free time with her family and acting in local plays. In 2020, she published her first book, "Fix My Staff", an Amazon best-selling book advising best employee practices. She is a mother to sons, Micah and Madden, and wife to Dr. Lamont Bunyon. Dr. Bunyon is a past staff optometrist for LensCrafters, America’s Best Contact and Lenses, Kaiser Permanente, Solomon Surgery & Eye Care, My EyeDoctor and the Lasik Vision Institute.
